From 2009 through 2017, Robert wrote a regular column for the Huffington Post. His work focused on mental-health issues, a governing theme of which was to reduce stigma against those diagnosed with mental disorders. Robert received a number of awards from the L.A. Press Club for his articles for the HuffPost. He won 2nd place in the sports feature category for a piece he wrote in 2009, was named a finalist for best arts & entertainment feature in 2010, was named a finalist for Online Journalist of the Year as well as for best non-political commentary for his work in 2011, and won 2nd place in the non-political commentary category for a piece he wrote in 2012.
